@505omatic: On Monday June 29th, members of the Santa Fe community, business owners, residents (housed and unhoused), and service providers met for an all day summit at the Convention Center to address the city's homelessness crisis. This summit comes after months of public input through surveys and community conversations, with a goal of developing plans collaboratively. ##505omatic #newmexico #SantaFe #howtosantafe #homelessness
There also needs to be a conversation about affordability because rents are only getting higher and the minimum wage is still not high enough so we have folks on the brink of homelessness.

I'll answer Dr. DeBernardi's question with a question: In Santa Fe, what should I be thinking? I really don't know because there are at least ten thoughts that go through my head and they all fall along a spectrum. At Rodeo/Cerrillos, lately, I think about the person that was murdered there in October. I think about the pets I see and find myself worrying about their safety, too. I think about the city's systems that result in people standing on the median. I think about their mental and physical health. I think maybe I'm being scammed. But are these legitimate and warranted thoughts?

HUD and Housing leaders can't help the tents they have presently , Its not set up to help anyone and the Lac of leadership to change the system.

we have beloved a long term unhoused people in our neighborhood and even they are worried about what is happening. one of our friends in the unhoused community was violently assaulted in their sleep not too long ago and was hospitalized for days. they have tried to get jobs in and around our area and have been let down. we wholeheartedly that the community brings many ideas to help what is going on. we want our community members to be ok. the solution has to be out there 🤎
