@samrinophotography: Another day at the office for this male osprey!! Spots a fish and with laser focus goes into a full dive snagging a meal to feed himself and the nest!! Adult Ospreys have an incredible success rate of 70% . Success rate is higher for experienced adults and much lower for sub adults still learning after in the first year of leaving the nest. The first year in an ospreys life is very difficult and many do not survive. They are still not at full strength so they are vulnerable to older stronger adults and other enemies!. Also their fishing skills are not honed in yet and can have a difficult time . Another difficulty they face after leaving the nest is they have a long journey migrating South (applies to ospreys here up north east) and they are still not at full strength and can be easily blown off course by weather conditions or not finding enough fish to sustain themselves on the way . The very sad reality is the first year of an osprey’s life they have only a 50% survival rate for the reasons I listed . After the first year the survival rate jumps to 80-90% . NO AI ever used in any of my videos! Just a man with a camera and lens doing what he loves filming beautiful wildlife.
