@the_mrs_crowder: Reading your comments on my last video made me realize we are ALL navigating this uncharted territory together. For decades our job description was 'Fixer,' but the rules have changed. Number 3 is by far the hardest one for me to practice. 🫠👇 What’s your biggest hurdle? Let’s talk in the comments. #AdultKids #Parenting #Midlife #WomenOver40 #MomLife

My husband and I bought 25 acres about 10 yrs ago. We have two boys that are 22yrs old married and Army and 20yrs old currently living at home with good job. We paid off our land and now we are in process of building our forever home. We told both our boys they are welcome to build their house on the land but they can not borrow against the it. They have to pay cash to build. Also the land is going in a trust and not to be sold. So if life gets hard they will always have a roof over their heads and a safe place to stay!

The hardest part for me right now is listening to my daughter talking to me about her marriage....
I just want her to pack up and come home to her mama.

I agree with all of these but most of all I think they need their mother’s prayers to carry them through all of those struggles and challenges they face ♥️

My two kids are in their 30’s. I tell new parents all the time that parenting adult children has been the hardest part of being a mom so far. No one warns you of this! Learning new boundaries every day, supporting without enabling, all of it. I don’t love them any less. If anything I love them more. And I love everything I’m learning from them in the process. But it’s HARD!!!

it's so hard when you know they are making bad decisions, because you have already walked that walk but I have to remind myself that this is their walk not mine

All of it!!! The biggest thing I have realized is that you just have to shut your mouth and let them figure it out… especially if you love them and value the relationship you have with them. It’s also the hardest thing to do when they’re making mistakes and you just have to sit back and watch and hope that they figure it out before the mistake is too big.

so hard to learn but so important. he wanted to move to Colorado alone or Montana with grandma. I pushed for Colorado alone first. if it doesn't work you have 2 back up plans. he didn't have to run home right away. he could figure out in his own time. we leave Friday for Montana to get his stuff from my mom's. he left in late Jan for Denver.

Your content is really helping me!! Our daughter has been lit of the house for a year now, with a house of her own and our son is leaving for Texas next month to work for the power company. My momma heart is all over the place and #3 on your list is the hard one for me. I’m the fixer❤️

Yes!!! I want them to think of calling me if they’re exciting, happy, scared, sad…all of them. I love asking them questions and coaching them in whatever they’re going through.

My only kid is 27 and in grad school. I tell her all the time how proud I am of her. She knows I am only a phone call away and always has a place to land. Love her to pieces.

Thank you for this! Currently becoming an empty nester as of August. One is moving out of town and the other is going off to college. I'm terrified, and know I need to hold boundaries but learning these boundaries is rough. But we will get through because most of all we care and are trying!

I love this so much. I have never had parents therefore never once had a safe place to fall. I’m so glad I will be able to be the safe place for my child.
