We have one, probably a different brand, but our sliding glass door can no longer lock, the latch from the sliding glass door would not catch onto the new dog door insert panel. We still use it, but put a pole in the back door track to "lock" it. The other concern is the draft it creates from the gap in the other side of the sliding door and the dog door flap itself with wind on hot days or cold days. There are ways to remedy these issues, and we deal with it because we want our dogs to be able to go inside or out as they please.

So it’s really easy to install and it’s sturdy enough that you can open and close your sliding glass door with no issues
