@aleksfidurski: Hormones are influenced by far more than genetics. In this animal study, low-dose caffeine intake from puberty to adulthood increased testosterone by 68% and DHT by 57%. Researchers suggested that caffeine may influence androgen production through its effects on metabolism, cellular energy production, and steroidogenesis. This doesn’t mean coffee is a magic testosterone booster, nor does it mean the same results occur in humans. But it does challenge the idea that caffeine only acts as a stimulant. In the right context, it may also affect the hormonal environment. The bigger lesson is that metabolism drives hormones. A body producing more energy tends to produce stronger androgen signals.
