@adiaz317xx: “WHEN THE POWER OF LOVE BEATS THE LOVE OF POWER, THE WORLD KNOWS PEACE.” That was the message hanging 1,454 feet above Manhattan after daredevil couple Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus climbed to the top of the Empire State Building’s antenna spire. Dressed in black and wearing face coverings, the couple unfurled the massive peace banner over New York City before beginning their descent. Then, while still high above the city, Ivan pulled out a ring and proposed. Angela said yes, admired her new engagement ring and continued climbing down with it on her finger. Their rooftop romance ended with NYPD officers meeting them on the spire and taking them into custody. The climb was unauthorized, but no injuries were reported, and the Empire State Building said visitors and tenants were never in danger. Angela and Ivan are known for scaling skyscrapers around the world and were featured in the 2024 Netflix documentary “Skywalkers: A Love Story.” So, in possibly the most on-brand proposal imaginable, they climbed 1,454 feet above New York City and came back down engaged… and under arrest. 💍🏙️ Romantic, reckless or a little bit of both? #fyp #foryoupage #viral
