Occam’s razor doesn’t work here. It’s equally a simple explanation that someone is annoyed as busy depending on a whole host of factors

It’s a great idea in theory, but applying Occam’s Razor to daily life needs a bit of caution. ⚠️ While using it as a quick mental reset to stop overthinking and inventing elaborate, negative scenarios is helpful 🧘‍♂️, we have to be careful. Sometimes a complex social situation actually has a dramatic explanation! 🎭 In casual chat, we often treat "simple" as meaning "least dramatic" or "easiest to deal with." 🤝 But strictly speaking, Occam’s Razor simply prioritizes the explanation with the fewest assumptions – and sometimes, the outcome requiring the fewest assumptions is actually a negative one. 😬 Occam’s Razor originally comes from formal logic and scientific theory 🔬. It was built to help scientists form hypotheses by stripping away unnecessary variables, not to decode human emotions. 💡 When your brain automatically jumps to the worst-case scenario in a social setting, that isn't really a violation of Occam's Razor – it's just classic psychological traits at play, like negativity bias 🧠⚡ or catastrophizing 💥

Philosophy not psychology to be exact. Occam’s razor is philosophical principle attributed to Occam, a 14th century Franciscan monk and predates modern psychology about a few hundred years or so.
