@chief_malo: PlayStation will no longer sell physical games starting January 2028 they will only sell digital games and remember when they stop putting the actual games on the physical copies and replaced it with key codes that download the games from the online services and gamers told you all that this is bad because we no longer own the games anymore but you guys said to not worry about it well you all have not cared so much that not only have they increased the price of gaming they now will not even sell physical copies anymore

I genuinely don't understand the need to have a physical copy. Owning a license to me is better than owning a copy. Your physical copy, once purchased ends the company's obligation to you. If you damage or lose it you are out of luck. So unless you keep your copies in an indestructible, climate controlled vault you run the risk of damaging it every time you use it. The license entitles you to use the product whenever you want and wherever you are. As long as the company exists you have your license.

I think your misrepresenting the Nintendo bit of this but I agree mostly. Nintendo just started lowering their digital versions. Their key cards are the way they are because with Switch 2 cartridge storage, there's only a large version thats developed, as opposed to the Switch 1 cards that have a variety. Rather than eating the cost of putting a small game on a massive amount of storage, companies opt for a key card. The simple solution is Nintendo just giving options to devs.

Ppl wanna blame rockstar and Sony like Nintendo has been building the foundation for this making other companies follow suit. They literally used dated hardware to push the same re skinned games for 70$+ and people think I’m crazy when I️say hardware wise Nintendo isn’t worth the money.

People always say shit about how digital is the way of the future, but they neglect to realize that in any future Sci fi shit where they have digital media, either you still own the copy of said digital media on a USB or crystal or whatever they're using, or the shit is free.
