The issue is that Hoyoverse won't ever make them develop their relationship because people are shallow and like watching them arguing and bickering against eachother. I feel like we overestimate the amount that Alhaithem tries his “best” to mend the relationship😭 in more recent times, sure, but you can clearly tell that he provoked kaveh a lot, even unintentionally, just by the way he worded things so poorly/passive aggressively. Alhaithem has a problem with communication like Kaveh(at least with him specifically), he’s just getting better at it first and actually wanting to try to mend the relationship first. Yes, Kaveh’s trauma and inferiority complex is ruining the little amounts of connection that Alhaithem tries to make when it isn’t worded in a provoking way, but sometimes Alhaithem rlly does word things poorly, and that’s fine. Kaveh shouldn’t jump down his throat at everything, but let’s not pretend Alhaithem is perfect in this relationship

I'm so glad someone says this... but I honestly wouldn't necessarily feel bad for Alhaitham because he's extremely good at understanding emotions in people, especially Kaveh. this makes me believe he's very very patient with him and understands why Kaveh reacts that way

they're mirrors. this means not only they're both equally at fault but they're both equally annoying whole trying to mend their relationship. I often see posts of people feeling worse for one or for the other but they're equally bad at getting what they want

They're both doing their best, but I don't expect the character to evolve into something like AQ for Kaveh, he's intellectually on the verge of losing everything for the third time and I don't think anyone is going to stay cohesive in this case, but in the events before that, he did well, I say this because I know a lot of people who don't have their nerves very well when stressed, but he was trying, and I saw that from him, I appreciate that as much as I appreciate their relationship.

I don't think it is as bad as before and Alhaitham does provoke him at times but what I've seen from their most recent interactions is that Kaveh IS starting to not react as much/he cuts himself off as soon as he realises and Alhaitham is patient and understands that it will take time and also they have been able to hold more conversations that aren't arguing and just faint bickering at best friends bicker that does not mean their characters have not changed just that it takes time with their complex history

Es un mal habito suponer que los personajes son moralmente perfectos y siempre actuan de la mejor forma. Alhaitham claramente lo intenta, pero tambien hay ocasiones en las que simplemente es desagradable y lo mismo con kaveh

to be fair, at the start, Alhaitham gone crazy with his provocations too, with really doesn't go well with Kaveh's defensiveness. if we could say for sure it's aiming for good relationship in the future, then I'd say this is a fine slowburn. it's gonna take a while for Kaveh's defensiveness and suspicions to vanish. but now that Alhaitham took the first step to try and be more considerate, I think it will make things good for both in the long progress, if he continues. kaveh was a bit less fired up in last aq too. nevertheless, Alhaitham is real patient, to try and be better while Kaveh is still in fight and defence mode. I hope they'll continue the development some day
