I have a graco and never had this issue. I would reach out to Graco and see what they say. Do you click the carseat onto a shopping cart? That can damage the locking mechanism.

CPST here - is the car seat touching the vehicle seat back? if it is it'll prevent it from clicking into the base properly.

I have the same seat and have used it for 2 kids and mine does not do that haha I would reach out to Graco. This is my all time favorite infant seat

We had that same issue with the same car seat. I called Graco and they sent us a new one! They did recommend when I put the seat on the base to listen for 3 clicks. So I always had to press down between the legs to click in the part closest to the seat back

Hey! I had the same problem with my graco car seat! I contacted them and they sent me a new car seat/base, but it ended up just being the base that was defective

had the same one for my first born. it ended up not snapping into base at all after it started this.... graco did replace it BUT with baby boy im pregnant with we decided Chicco this go around. wasnt messing with it again!

All of my Graco’s do it. Your manual does say to press on the front when putting it on the base then pull on the corners to make sure it’s secure. Does that fix it?

Is your blanket in the way? Mine did that too a few times and it was because of my car seat cover was in the way!

are you making sure that the blanket isn't getting caught? did you buy it new or used? I highly recommend meeting with a CPST to troubleshoot. you should not need to wiggle it around to such an extent to get it fully secure

Make sure the blanket isn’t in the way at all. Does the base part move around on your seat without the car seat portion in it. Or is it just not tight when the car seat is in it

There is going to be wiggle more as you go farther away from the latches or the seatbelt. Even take a look at a convertible seat. You take the top and you shake it and it’s going to shake. Your car seat that you click into the base is not attached to anything. It’s clicked into the base the base as long as it has less than 1 inch of movement is installed properly. Your car seat is clicked into the base at the base of the car seat at the top of the car seat, so there is going to be wiggle at the top of the car seat and the further away you go from the point of anchor.

My granddaughter is in this I take the seat belt and put it thru the slots on the top of the seat itself and it holds it tight
