When I have a large mass of material, I go through all of it and write my own notes on it (bullet pointed). The notes may take up 10 pages, 20, 30, etc, it doesn’t matter. I do this at the end of each semester for every class - I go through the whole semester’s worth of material this way. Once I’ve finished the notes, the material is all in my head. Usually I’m down with this in 3 or so days. Then the day before the exam, I review the notes (which comes easily because the hard / time consuming work is done). Sometimes it feels daunting to complete this process. I have done this for physics, economics, chemistry, mathematics, philosophy etc - it always works for me. The most important part is that you’ve seen all the material, understood it, made all the connections, rewritten it, and reviewed it. Good luck!
