Hi baby, I won’t beg this time. Not because I stopped caring, but because I’m starting to understand that love shouldn’t feel like I constantly have to prove I’m worth staying for. I see you — even in your silence. I notice how you pull away when things get heavy, how you choose distance instead of facing what’s between us. And I tried, I really did, to meet you halfway without losing myself in the process. But loving you in silence has been the most painful feeling I have ever known. I kept telling myself, “Just understand him/her, this is just how he/she is,” while slowly, I was the one being drained. I stayed patient, I stayed gentle, even when I felt ignored, even when it felt like I was the only one holding everything together. Maybe you will never fully realize how many times I chose you, even when it would have been so much easier to just walk away. I don’t hate you, and I don’t blame you either.
