This is so true. I am from Queensland. I am married to a Frenchman who speaks very good English and we rarely have issues communicating… Until we go back to Queensland and my accent kicks in without me knowing. We used to have fights because I thought he wasn’t listening to me… and then he finally admitted that when we’re there my accent is so strong he has no idea what I’m saying.
