@teresondupuy: If you are grieving right now, this is not the time to start a new relationship. I know someone may come in and feel like a knight in shining armor. A savior. An answered prayer. A soft place to land when everything inside of you feels broken. But when someone meets you at your lowest, and they immediately want to become the thing that saves you, there is usually something missing inside of them too. That connection may feel healing at first. But over time, as you begin to come out of the grief, the dynamic starts to change. Because the version of you they attached to was the wounded version. The broken version. The grieving version. The version that needed rescue. And once you start healing, the relationship may no longer know how to survive. This is why grief needs space. You have to sit with it. Feel it. Let it move through your body. Let yourself cry. Let yourself rage. Let yourself fall apart. Let yourself slowly piece yourself back together. Not through another person. Through your own soul. Because when you give yourself the time to truly heal, you become available for a love that is not built on rescue. A love that is aligned. A love that meets the whole you. A love that does not need you broken in order to feel needed.
