@petermcginnes: Some of the really cool things animals are doing with their brains 🧠 #neuroscience #animals #brainfacts #animalbrain #sciencetok

Olivia Voldaren :

Does that mean the central brain of the octopus is aware when a tentacle touches or has some kind of feeling/sensation or do the nerves only send signals to the tentacle brain?

Jackson2025 :

I always look forward to your post. Could listen to them for hours. Thank you. 😊

eddie :

While walking my dog, I saw a woodpecker rapidly pecking on a wood light post. I wondered how he didn't scramble his brain. Now I know. Thanks for the info.

Mel :

separate brains in their tentacles! 😮 how cool! 🔥

Mari :

Excellent information thank you so much. Yes, we absolutely want to hear more.

fun fact, the hyoid bone is the only bone that isn't connected to any other bones (in humans at least)

More, please!

Marine :

do you do podcast ?

samuelvieira1024 :

Peter, have you ever studied corvids? Their brains are absolutely incredible! Through convergent evolution, they are able to do things such as: plan ahead of time, recognize faces, play (yes, corvids do play with one another), have at least a baseline theory of mind and so much more! They are to birds what primates are to mammals.

octopus are so greedy with organs… back in my day we just had one brain for everything

cognitoergosum777 :

Also interesting: Octopodes are a form of Cephalopods. Cephalo meaning cephalised meaning concettated neural tissue/a brain and pods meaning limbs!

obsessedbirdlady :

I love these 😁
