The reality is, if they're that close of a friend, every photo will be marred by the absense of them. Every fond moment of that day will come with the aftertaste that you fought with one of your closest friends. Every time her former friend is brought up, she'll have to uncomfortably explain why they don't talk anymore. There's so many stunning venues, places are replacable, people aren't.

I think knowing her stance should have made you weigh your decision more carefully for the venue. But you can’t undo past history. Also she shouldn’t be turning your venue into her personal stand to vocalize her agenda. I think you both could have handled it better
