if the next console doesn't have a disc drive then how do you do the conversation? Or if there is a disc drive then why only have it for this one feature? Can we buy one copy of a game and then pass it around and everyone gets the game? does not make any sense... they'll blacklist the discs somehow and if that's the case how do you know if you buy a disc preowned at a store, that you can even use it?

That’s pretty much what happens now anyway, you install the disc and it makes it all digital with massive updates. it just uses the disc for authentication when you start and play the game.
