If the magazine came out May 14, you can cut May out of the search. The magazine probably went to press early May, with layout, editing & proofing in late April. You’re probably looking at early April

Canadian here. Watched all episodes on this. Did you ever look North of the border? There’s lots of Canadian cities in close proximity to NY and many Canadian families went to NY just for the fun of it. “Skurfing” made a lot of headlines in the same timeline. Canadians didn’t just see this as an offshoot of surfing, but also SKIING!! Check the CBC Archives as I was just reading an article that offers up a lot of names of people who were organizing events during that time. They even called them skurfboards… Maybe, just maybe, he was a skier that came from 🇨🇦…🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

from someone who lives in the area - its not May, its absolutely April from the growth on the trees. probably mid April at that because the trees tend to have more leaves by the end of April and early May. also people wearing shorts on the first warm day, totally common. so I would say look at any day above 70.
