@kinderwell2: The secret to a childhood kids will never forget? Simple family traditions. They cost nothing but require your presence. Here are impactful ideas: 1. **Monthly Kid-Planned Day:** Empower your children by letting them plan a day. Say 'yes' (within reason) and witness their pride in being trusted. 2. **Weekly Indoor Picnic Night:** Lay a blanket, grab favorite snacks, ditch screens. Whether it’s a taco or pancake picnic, they’ll anticipate it every week. 3. **Random Upside Down Day:** Break routine! Dessert first, pajamas at breakfast – pure, memorable chaos they'll still be talking about at 25. 4. **Monthly Family Sleepover:** Gather mattresses in the living room, choose a movie, and fall asleep together. These nights become legendary. 5. **Monthly Fancy Dinner at Home:** Set candles, play music, dress up. It’s about creating an intentional, special atmosphere. 6. **Your Family's Signature Dish:** A recipe passed down – "Mama's famous rice," "Baba's special omelette." A future memory stirred into every bite. These consistent, small moments, not grand vacations or toys, define their childhood. They may feel ordinary in the moment, but later, they become the essence of what it meant to be a kid in your home. Begin one this week and watch the magic unfold. #parentingtips #familytraditions #momtok #parentinghacks #kidsoftiktok

Omg this made me tear up and warmed my heart sometimes nowadays we put materialistic things top front but remembering my child hood was just like this and we’re selfish to not let our kids experience this. Sometimes life gets in the way but I’ll be trying this out from today thank you I needed this post today 💔❤️

Too much pressure on today’s parents. Too much to catch up with. Na money we dey find or na teaching the children to love Jesus or simply balancing out our own mental health. God help us🙏

every Sunday, my husband takes our boys for a SONday. they go to the coffee shop and get muffins and smoothies and play chess. he's been doing this since our oldest was small, so almost 20 years.
Friday and Saturday nights are movie nights. popcorn and soda.

Would have to disagree that “it’s not the Vacations” I think annual family trips, definitely make up a huge part of childhood and tradition!

Every time it rains everyone gets a cup of tea and we turn off all the screens and lights and just watch the rain together. The kids get excited at the sound of rain now 🥰

how I wish I had this during childhood.... it hurts when your parents didn't raise you. They choose to divorce, life separately and put me into my grandparents care since infant...
If reincarnation does exist, I wish to be born in a harmonious happy whole family with loving mom and dad cherishing me..

The vacations are scientifically proven to also become core memories. The toys, the clothes etc not

True. I still remember my mother laying her mattress in the kitchen so we can all lay together and feel the warmth of her favourite coal stove. It was the best. 🥺🥺

It makes me so sad to see these post cause I was the mom that wanted to make all these moments and memory's. I told myself I would be present and all I got was crying I don't wanna do this and nagging my spark just ran out after years of trying pouring out and no one poured in.

You are listing all these things, but some of us are so exhausted that we can barely find the energy to get up and do even the basic tasks. Some of us also have neurodivergent children, and I would like to believe people understand what that involves. We truly try our best, but please, when you make posts like these, also think of mothers like me. I am sure there are many in my situation. Seeing posts like this can make us feel guilty for not being able to do them. We do try our best🥺

every night at dinner we do something called " what happened good for you today" and usually one of the younger kids starts it. And asks one person in particular, what happen good for them today. then, that person tells what happened good for them and then they choose the next person. it's a fun tradition to do to keep them looking for the positives during the day

I have a movie night every friday. Disco night once a month and a tea party once a month as well. I even bought a cheap disco ball and I let then choose their own tea cups from a vintage store with a fancy table cover and layered plates. They love it so much and look forward to it. We went camping before but it was hard work coz my kids are only 4 and 5 (single mom), maybe when they are older. I'm thinking of adding karaoke nights. Just do what fits your family.
