I think my favorite bp of mine was a 99/90 the other week that my Dr said was really good and that I was "overconfident in my own medical knowledge" when I brought up my worries and issues of fatigue and dizziness in combo with my BP being off. Like sir my systolic and diastolic are trying to shake hands. What do you mean

Finally, a professional telling it as it is. I take thousands of patients bp’s every year, however the focus on training is always on the systolic pressure readings unless the diastolic is abnormally high or low. There are so many factors that determine bp readings , medication, hydration, patient positioning, is the pressure cuff position correct, or the right size, etc, etc. More in-depth training is needed for professionals , and education for the general public on the importance of understanding the bp readings. Well done for explaining this so clearly.

This is very interesting. I have low BP, mainly my diastolic, it can drop below 50, sometime close to 40. I have orthostatic intolerance from my ME/CFS which has also caused PoTS. I am 42 years old. Should I be concerned? 🥺

I got told that if the difference is around 40 then they just look at the top number. They get concerned when yhe numbers get too close or too far apart.

Bottom number tends to always be 72. But if my blood pressure is really low. The bottom number drops too to 60.

Thank you for such a clear explanation. However for me It’s so confusing. I’ve always had good blood pressure but lately reading about 140 over 98. But when I go to gym I get my blood pressure checked about 5 minutes after I finish and it’s perfect. I’m in my 60’s. 🤷🏼♀️
