This is partially false. If you inflate the tire to the tire pressure on the tire instead of the tire pressure on the car the correct amount of tire will be touching the ground.

What about oversized tires? Do you set them at same pressure? My truck has a 285/70/17 instead of 255/70/17.

Top Teir Gas is more than a tire pressure issue. Filling up at newer stations that are better than old ones. Never visit an old station.

Tires are also part of your suspension system. The harder you make your tires the more the struts have to work and good factory struts cost about $1400 apiece. I would rather replace tires and waste a little bit of gas all day before replacing struts prematurely.

Partially correct - the suggested tire pressure on the door seam is the min tire pressure not the optimum pre. Take a look at the max / min tire pressure on the tire itself. Over inflated is when you go over the max on the tire itself.!You need to also calculate for hot road surface which will increase tire pressure. In short do your research for your particular car and situation .

Ideal tire pressure can vary by up to a few pounds with aftermarket tires and especially if you have aftermarket wheels with tires of a different size than what came on it. You can check this by using chalk to put a line across the tires and drive a short distance. If the center wears off first, less pressure is needed. If the center wears out last, more pressure is needed.
