@natalie_oneillll: I told you I'd come back with the goodssss I was on the fence about showing you my physio exercises for an anterior pelvic tilt, but honestly I don't think any of these, as long as you do them slowly and in a controlled way, are particularly harmful. It really all just comes down to spending more time in the desired position than in the default position, which for me is rounded shoulders and a tilted pelvis. Interestingly, most people I spoke to said that a tilted pelvis isn't something that needs to be fixed. We do all just have different postures, and that is natural and normal. However, I also have very tight hip flexors, so we agreed there is some room for improvement overall. I'm honestly really enjoying these stretches a lot more than I thought I was going to, and the person I've been seeing is called Physio Jack in Finsbury Park. Stretches - 3x for 30 seconds (don't do much longer like I've been doing, because you can actually overstretch the muscle and feel injured for a few days) Table tops - three sets until fatigued. Slow and controlled, don't rush. Reset your lower back every time it comes off the mat. Jack advised me to do this three times a week, and I started doing it more than that, and I did mildly hurt myself, so please do listen to these instructions if you're gonna do them. #pelvictilt #physio #gymgirl #gymtips #gymroutine

I actually went to a physio about this last week and have started physio led pilates! One thing to note though is when you are in a table top position, it’s more beneficial to perform those toe taps in a neutral spine rather than an imprinted spine like you demonstrated. Your back shouldn’t completely arch but you should be able to stabilise yourself right in the middle and feel the movement solely hinging from your hips. I’ve seen a lot of creators like Lilly Sabri using the imprinted spine method but watching physio led demonstrations on here plus my own physio plus obsessively googling about it has made me realise the benefits of doing it in a neutral spine. Hopefully this makes sense! I’ve been practicing pilates and yoga with an imprinted spine for years and have what’s known as hourglass syndrome or ab gripping, where the top of my core does all the work and the bottom is a lazy little pooch 🦘

At this point I’m convinced we’re the same person: same skin concerns, neurodivergence, and pelvic tilt/weak core?! Wild. Tysm for sharing this!😅

Anterior pelvic tilt is due to your forward head posture, which is a result of narrow airways and a recessed jaw. If you want to fix your postural problems and stiffness, you need to get your jaw and airways looked at. Forward head posture is the way the body compensates for a narrow airway.

the pelvic tilt fix is not cosmetic. your lumbar, your hips and therefore knees and ankles are being affected in time. so it's not just cosmetic, it's functional and helps you in the long run 🥰

Have you considered the possibility that you are hypermobile? It's a common comorbidity for neurodivergent individuals. Also, it can be more difficult to maintain good posture with this.

Not sure if you mentioned this but you should totally get to a good Pilates studio. Either mat or reformer. Will be sooo good for your posture. I’m surprised your physio didn’t recommend it to you aswell! 🫶🏼🫶🏼

You NEED to do reformer/ mat pilates with a trainer who has classical pilates in training 🙋🏽‍♀️that’s me! I would love to help you and give you a session even if it’s online. You need to work on deep core and breathing activation- the table top exercise is the base of all pilates exercises! I would be SOO happy to support you 💖

my physio said, walking with your hand in your pockets sets your shoulder right, and it's been really handy for remembering when I'm out and about!
