I think there was a mistake in the question, it should be albert says he doesnt know but he knows bernard doesnt know either. Under than condition, since albert knows bernard doesnt know, then cheryl’s birthday cannot be in may or june since those months contain dates that are unique. So if albert got those months he cant say for sure that bernard doesnt know. Bernard says that he didnt know at first but after hearing albert’s answer, he knows. This means that albert did not receive a date that is 14 since there are 2. Finally, albert says he knows as well and that means the month he was given is not august which leaves only july 16th as the answer. Hope this helps.

I said June 18 since it’s the only 18th day in those months so I assumed that if Bernard knew the only possibility was that Albert would also know

@່:You can eliminate may and June because those months have a chance contain a unique number - 19 and 18. Albert said he cannot know so the month he got couldn't have been may or June as their would be a chance he got the unique number and thus knew the date. Now we only have July and August and the number Bernard got was 16 so he knows it's July 16 Albert must have gotten July as the month as it is the only way he'd know the exact date

I was thinking smth Else lmk if it works, Albert gets told its in July and he knows that Bernard was told 14th or 16th of Bernard was told it was 14th then he would know its july 14th since its the only money with that date, therefore the date bernard recieved must be the 16th and he alr knows the month july

you have to make the assumption his random dates thrown in follow a pattern of next day then 3 days later so 15th may 16th may 19th may so the only odd one out in the pattern is 16th july.
