Pumpkins will grow in the opposite direction on their first true leave ! So next year when your planting up the arch plant them so the first leaf is away from the arch ! Will make it a lot easier to trellis ! As for spacing I’m 4 years into the allotment game and I don’t listen to spacing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣xx

Do you have any good children's charities in your area or scouts, brownies etc? I'm sure they'll be happy to recieve pumpkins around Halloween for the kids to carve (if you have too many)
