It’s the AI. Go into the settings, to Apple Intelligence, and turn off AI, then (and I know this is stupidly laborious, but at least it exists), go to the Apps menu INSIDE THE INTELLIGENCE SETTINGS (it’s at the bottom) and turn off AI in every app. It’ll save you SO much storage space and keep the phone from getting so hot.

For those interested in trying a Chinese smartphone that'll work in the US look into Xiaomi. The cons are you have to be on a carrier like T-Mobile, Mint, Cricket, etc., it's a lot of glass/ceramics so it needs a good case, & purchasing one seems to only be through Amazon or AliExpress. The pros are they're super cheap compared to other Androids (& certainly Apples), they come in a wide variety of specs, and they have a lot of features that are considered "flagship" worthy standard. Just food for thought if you're looking around 🙂👍

Apple has had lawsuits and multiple class action suits for this. My Samsungs has never done this..the only time my phone has a heat warning is at the beach wheres its sitting on top of the hot sand on my beach towel but then it goes into a cooling mode

Saw this in a TikTok comment & tried it yesterday and it worked. I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max that the battery was hardly lasting. At minimum for every app you have do this go under Apple Intelligence towards the bottom click apps and turn off "Learn from this app" and turn off all suggestion features too. Since then my iPhone battery last so much longer
