The brand, founded by Mohammad Hassan Tareen, is based on olives grown in Loralai, Balochistan, and aims to place Pakistan among the world’s recognised producers of high-quality extra virgin olive oil. Tareen, the brand founder, said the award was not only a personal milestone but also a major achievement for Pakistan’s emerging olive oil industry. He told Geo News the London competition is one of the major international contests for olive oil, where well-known brands from around the world take part. He said: “This is a major olive oil competition held in London, where leading brands from across the world participate. I entered my own brand and sent samples for the competition. I attended the event here and by the grace of Allah, for the first time from Pakistan, my brand won a Gold Category award. There are different categories in the competition, including packaging, health and quality. I competed in the quality category, and the award I received was based on quality.”
