Hi, ballerina here !! Odette is based on swan lake, we already had pointe shoes when it first performed in 1877.

On the second one about Odette.. her design is based of Swan Lake which was a performance where people used did infact use POINTE SHOES. Also not to say lets think hypothetically about her design and wonder why her heels weren’t even accurate to the ones shown in the image. Lets say the timeframe is different and its back in the 1500s where ballet slippers were used as shown in the image. If they could even bother to add heels then they could bother to add a long skirt to her design as shown in the image. I’m just pressed about this because Genshin never gets anything accurate most of the time, so don’t take this to heart as I just like complaining

as someone who loves watching about ballet shit, those heels are NOT the same odettes heels are more modernized, while the old ones are stylized with leather plus didnt they change the heels to pointe shoes when swan lake came out which is directly the play Odette portrays?

Thing is, people aren’t complaining about the Tsaritsa’s shoulders but the fact she’s wearing a mini skirt with a long coat In the back plus ballerinas wore special heels presumably with flexible soles instead of the classic hard sole modern herls

Odette's design having heels is the ONLY element and reference we have to old ballet from the 1700s, while the rest of her outfit is from the modern era of ballet. Swan lake was written in the late 1800s, where ballerinas already transitioned to wearing shorter skirts/tutus and pointe shoes, and Odette is literally named after the swan princess, her whole theme is swan lake. In the 1700s, they also used to wear ball gowns, and long dresses, so why doesn't Odette? On top of that, the heels she wears look nothing like the heels they wore in that era, which were not as dainty and strappy like Odette's. Argument unvalid.
