Hen do’s have just got utterly out of control in my opinion. I would hate to think that my friends are spending more than they can afford. Keep it low key and stop losing sight of what really matters. Friendships!

This same thing happened to my other half he went to a stag do down the country probs cost him 300/400 for the whole weekend and he didn’t even get invited to the wedding at all !

Yes we have to show up for the people that we love but the people that we love need to have a little bit of consideration for the people that they love and realise that there’s no need for the extravagance and temper their expectations of people.

Oooo I feel equipped to talk about this subject. We are having a small intimate ceremony and then a big reception party. When I made a GC for my away hen do the first thing I said in the message was that we are having a small wedding so not everyone will be invited all day, I personally thought it was so important to let everyone know that before they spent any money or effort coming away! Side note I since changed my mind and we now have 32 day guests so that everyone on the hen do can be there all day because I felt it crazy to ask them to spend all that money and then not even come to the wedding✨ *also to note that o paid entirely for myself on the hen do and didn’t ask or expect anyone to chip in for me!

i have known this happen i dont understand if your being asked on the stag or hen then why wouldnt you go to the whole day cause you must be in there close circle ?? i would be upset if i wasent invited all day just my opinion not hate please 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My husband got invited to his friends two stag dos, then wasn’t even invited to the wedding in the end as there was only one space left so they asked their single friend instead 😂 he couldn’t care less but I was fuming for him 😬

Been to loads of hen dos and only went to the night do, I don’t mind 🤣😅 think weddings are so expensive now a lot of couples only invite people all day that both of them know together.

I got asked by the bride to organise her works hen do, which I did, even spent my own money on little extras, didn’t get a proper thank you, or even an invite to the reception 😅

Away hens for all day guests. Home hen/night for reception guests. 100% would be upset if I got invited away and then wasn’t invited all day unless it was a tiny wedding x

I had about 20 girls on my hen do but they didn't all go to my wedding as I had a tiny wedding. The hen was camping at a pub and my friends maybe paid £80 for the whole weekend with all their food and drinks. I did then have a big party the weekend after my wedding where all of my friends and family were invited. I do think it depends on the wedding size. We only had about 50 people at the actual wedding.

I think it depends on the wedding to be fair. I’m only having my immediate family, my friends that are at the ceremony are bridesmaids. I really didn’t want a big wedding and I have told everyone this from the start and my save the dates specify evening as well to allow people to plan. I’m also not having an expensive hen either but there will be people there who aren’t at the ceremony. I would hope that no one would take offence, I’m just not someone who enjoys attention and the thought of walking down the aisle with a load of people looking at me makes me feel ill 🫣😂

Yeah you can’t make people travel and spend a lot of money for anything wedding or wedding adjacent and not invite them to the whole day!!

My friendship group keep organising a “just us” hen do separate to the main one. This was fine for the first when we were full day guests but now when we’re only evening guests it’s getting silly. I can’t deal with the costs anymore.

Can top that one! Spent a fortune on a so called friends hen weekend! Cost hundreds, lost a days work pay, marching costumes and even made a gift for everyone in the hen party! Then didn’t even get a wedding invite and got ignored and blanked everyday. Worse bit was I couldn’t have afforded it and had just found out I was pregnant and couldn’t drink and was hiding being sick as no one knew
