once I texted in my work group chat that I'd be 5 minutes late. i was working at a call centre that handles health issues and makes doctor's appointments. I had to start at 9.00 and I was entering the main entrance at 9.00, so I was behind my computer and ready to start at 9.05. team leader came to me and asked me if I was willing to make up this lost time after my shift. I said that it was just 5 minutes and I didn't think it was necessary. she sais that she'll check if thats accurate and she'll come back to me. she never returned. note that by that time every time that the workload rose and they needed more people I always stayed late and worked 12hour shifts (it was also convenient for me). guess who never offered to stay later after that. this happened in the Netherlands.

One of my last bosses would just say I was being defensive if I had any feedback or questioning when he’d talk to me. He just wanted throw around wrong assumptions or accusations and literally have you give NO feedback or opinion
