@rinedit_0: Denji X Reze || #tvgirl #denji #reze #chainsawman #edit || The relationship between Reze and Denji is one of the most bittersweet and complicated in Chainsaw Man. It's built on genuine affection, manipulation, and the tragedy of two people who never really had the chance to choose their own lives. At first, Reze appears to be everything Denji has dreamed of. She is kind, playful, and treats him like a normal teenage boy rather than a weapon. She flirts with him, teaches him small things, and makes him feel seen. For someone who grew up in poverty, abuse, and loneliness, this attention is overwhelming. Denji quickly falls for her because she offers him something he has rarely experienced: warmth and freedom. However, Reze is secretly an assassin sent to capture Denji. Much of her early kindness is part of her mission, making it difficult to know where the act ends and the real Reze begins. As the story progresses, though, cracks appear in her façade. Reze and Denji realize they have similar pasts. Both were raised as tools, denied normal childhoods, and forced to fight for others. When Reze asks Denji to run away with her, it no longer feels like simple manipulation. She seems to genuinely want to escape the lives that have trapped them both. Denji, despite learning the truth, still chooses to believe in the possibility that Reze cares about him. He decides to meet her at the café so they can leave together. This decision shows how deeply he values the hope of being loved, even after being betrayed. The tragedy is that Reze ultimately decides to return to Denji. After initially leaving, she changes her mind and heads back to the café, suggesting that her feelings had become real. Before she can meet him, however, she is intercepted and killed, meaning the two never get the chance to see each other again. Denji never learns that she came back for him. Their relationship represents a recurring theme in Chainsaw Man: people longing for ordinary happiness while being trapped by the violent roles forced upon them. Reze and Denji understand each other in ways few others can, but circumstances, manipulation, and fate prevent them from having the normal life they briefly imagined. In the end, Denji's feelings are unquestionably genuine. He loved the version of life Reze showed him and was willing to trust her despite everything. Reze's feelings are more ambiguous at first, but the story strongly implies they became real by the end. Her final decision to return to Denji transforms their relationship from a simple deception into a heartbreaking "what could have been"—a brief glimpse of two broken people who might have found happiness together if the world had let them.
