Don’t worry about your cake being super big. If you’re doing a cake cutting, get a small one for the both of you to eat. Buy cheaper big cakes if you don’t have a specific preference.

Ok hear me out… we spent less than 7k for everything. We also wanted a beach wedding but did this instead. We got married at Paradise Cove (hidden gem in Orlando). We got the smallest package they offered for 2 hrs that included everything! Decor, hors d’oeuvres, drinks etc. We literally just showed up because the wedding planner is included. Don’t waste money on invites. It’s 2026 everything is virtual. We used Zola. Her sister walked her down the aisle and my son walked me. 💕 Don’t overthink or overspend! It’s not necessary.

Start by figuring out your top priorities early on. Decide what really matters most to you like the venue, photos, food, guest list, or music. Everything else should be flexible. A lot of stress comes from trying to make everything perfect, instead of focusing on the 2–3 things that actually make the day feel special.

The cost of wedding invitations is ridiculous. Canva was a truly life saver!!! They came in super quick and I ordered all pieces of mine through them and it made for such a fun date to put it all together. They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee and resent mine with no additional charge when I had a typo in my first order. Area I would’ve saved money on was definitely the cake, we had so many leftovers and they try and charge you by your guest count when in reality not everyone wants cake. Something I valued so much was having a videographer and if I could go back, I would make that purchase over and over again. It really allows you to see all aspects of your day that you can’t see in the moment and relive it forever. Sending you guys lots of love in this season of life, it really is such a beautiful time!!!!

We had an ‘oh sh*t’ kit for the day of! Inside it, we had white gloves for handling the dress, chalk for stains, scissors, bobby pins, advil/tylenol, first aid, etc

My girlfriend sister made one person at each table the “ captain of fun” There was an armband that said captain and their job is just to keep the vibes high and the fun going ! I loved the idea

Pick out body spray’s for one another, and only wear it for wedding planning days/wedding parties/the wedding day/honeymoon. When you wear those sprays after the wedding, months or years later, you will be reminded of all of the wedding events.

Congratulations, me and my girl just took photos here as well! An App called the Knott has been very helpful for us with making a guest list and budgeting. Also look for warehouses or even thrifts and get you a few bins to stock up on cups/plates/silverware, etc.

saw someone plant their own flowers in their yard and grow them for their wedding. and BUY A CRICUT AND SMALL PROJECTOR. my sister hand wrote every single sign for my mom‘s wedding by projecting it and tracing it.

Get your cake at Publix , literally saves you SO MUCH money and they even have cake tasting and consultations so you can choose flavors and everything and they deliver !!! Same thing with little pastries and charcuterie !

my only opinion which may not seem like much but is VERY important (it helped keep me levelled and not spiral) was that you’re marrying your partner and it’s YOUR wedding, not the guests’ wedding or your families’ and nothing anyone wants or says matters except what the two of you want and think 💗💗
