I actually think a book about finding a husband as an ambitious woman would’ve been a stronger fit. I don’t believe the Kardashians would’ve built that empire around a Black woman. Emma Grede’s husband is the CEO, but she was clearly a driving force behind the business. What I do admire about Emma is that she found a smart way to reclaim something the Kardashians popularized from Black culture. That’s why I feel like she is intentionally speaking to Black women.

She's saying he came to the UK with nothing meanwhile he already had a successful marketing career and was invited to build an agency in London. When they met, he had already set up his business, she ended up working for him and then he invested in her business. None of this negates the hard work she has done but it's manipulative for her to downplay the role he played while attempts to sells her "pull yourself up by your bootstrap" book to Black American women.....Honestly, she'd have more legitimacy if she was honest about how picking the right partner can accelerate or derail your career...
