What is Islam?
Islam is a second major world religion(followers called Muslims) following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, who is considered the last messenger of Allah. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is not founder of Islam.Islam is there when first Man prophet Adam (AS) set his foot on earth.The word "Islam" itself means "submission" or "surrender," reflecting the core belief in submitting to the will of Allah (God).
Here are some key aspects of Islam:
Monotheism Believe : Islam is a monotheistic religion, which means that Muslims believe in a single, all-knowing and all powerful God, Allah Almighty.
Quran: The holy book of Islam, believed to be the literal word of God as revealed to Muhammad(PBUH).Quran testify all previous books.Muslims believe in angles,all previous Prophets, books,Fate and day of Jugment.
Five Pillars of Islam: These are the basic acts of worship and the foundation of a Muslim's faith and practice:
1-Shahada: The declaration of faith, stating that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is His messenger.
2-Salat:(Prayers) Performing ritual prayers five times a day.
3-Zakat:(Charity) Giving to 2.5% as charity on savings and supporting the needy.
4-Saum:(Fast)Ramzan is ninth month of luner calender of Islamic year.Fasting during the holy month of Ramadan luner .(30) days
5-Hajj: The pilgrimage to Mecca, which every Muslim must try to undertake at least once in their lifetime if they are able.The Hajj is performed between the 8th and 12th (or 13th) of Dhul-Hijjah, the 12th and final month of the Islamic calendar.
Community and Morality: Islam places a strong emphasis on the community (Ummah) and living a life based on ethical principles and compassion.
Prophets: Muslims believe in a line of prophets including Adam, Noah, Abraham,Daved,Suliman, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad(PBUT), who conveyed God's guidance to humanity.
Islam is practiced by over two billion people worldwide and has a rich family bound cultural and intellectual history.
