@justice4dusty: I want to tell you about Dusty. Dusty was 36 years old when this happened to her. She's a legally incapacitated adult with an intellectual disability who lives in Maricopa County, Arizona. On February 17, 2024, she walked into a Burger King in Litchfield Park — as a customer. Staff told her there were feces in the women's bathroom and blamed her for it. The feces were already there before Dusty went in. She didn't do this. But here is where things get worse. Staff would not allow her to leave. They lied to her, told her they had camera footage proving she was the one who defecated on the floor. That was a lie! Then they threatened to call the police on her. A legally incapacitated adult with an intellectual disability. Trapped. Lied to. Threatened with the police. So she complied. They handed her a couple of paper towels. And they made her clean it up. She's not an employee. She had no reason to do this. But because of her disability, she was targeted by staff who knew she wouldn't fight back. Her family took Burger King to court. Burger King has tried to minimize and dismiss what happened to her.
