@itslucinari: #TEAMGREEN × "so prepare for the coup of the century." watching s3 only reminded me how much tg got nerfed :(( i remember when i’ve first stumbled into the fandom, i automatically became team black, because i haven’t watched the show nor read the books yet, but both twitter and tiktok was so vehemently anti-team green saying (mostly true) things what they’ve done in the show and i was gagged. then i watched the show and i remember thinking (aside from how tragic alicent’s story seems), why wouldn’t i be team black? i mean adult!rhaenyra’s so purified she’s basically water. her being so superior to aegon made me frustrated, because it is cruel her only set-back was being a woman, which — while yeah, a genuine discrimination she’s faced in this patriarchal system, also made me roll my eyes, because she is the almost perfect victim and i wanted women to be allowed to be as evil as the men ifyk what i mean. so when i read the book holymoly. the books + my pathological demand avoidance and the visceral reaction i have when someone tells me that i must be on x’s side made me switch lmao. in the fire & blood, they’re both shite options, but in the show, out of sheer spite, i decided to ruin my friends’ days. plus green’s my favourite colour. on a more serious note, i wanted to edit something to them that wouldn’t be too serious; i enjoy getting into heated discussions about my interests as much as the next person, and i detest the sentence “it’s not that deep” but highkey i don’t believe swinging one way or the other is some moral failure on anyone’s part. it’s a show, and the better written characters are, the more i am likely to enjoy it, the more compelling, the more inspiring. adult!rhaenyra (aside from being played by emma d’arcy — they are such a marvelous actor !!) is so whitewashed that she almost reminds me of some heroines from these romantasy books. alicent’s not much better :(( in my eyes, her prime were episodes 1-7 from the first season and it’s a downfall from there. anyhow i wanted to rant a bit and do a silly edit ;D #houseofthedragon #alicenthightower #aegoniitargaryen #hotd house of the dragon, alicent hightower, aegon targaryen, helaena targaryen, aemond targaryen, daeron the daring <3, daeron targaryen, otto hightower, grrm, a song of ice and fire, house hightower, fire and blood.
