@bossah_media: COMMUNITY WATCH | BOSSAH MEDIA Large quantities of rubbish are currently being removed from the major drainage channel at Alajo following the recent floods. The sight of the enormous amount of waste recovered from the gutter is both shocking and disheartening. The big question is: Where does all this rubbish come from? The answer lies in our homes, neighbourhoods, and communities. Improper waste disposal often finds its way into drains, obstructing the free flow of water and increasing the risk of flooding during heavy rainfall. While natural factors can contribute to flooding, blocked drainage systems caused by indiscriminate dumping of waste also play a significant role. Keeping our surroundings clean and disposing of waste responsibly is a shared responsibility that can help reduce the impact of future floods. Let’s protect our communities by keeping our drains free from rubbish.
