People are failing to register that the cops said they would escort her out safely 2.5 hours before but she just didn’t come out until she was ready. She had multiple opportunities to make accommodations and she did not. She is at fault and she is responsible.

they blocked her only egress, so if there was a medical emergency would they have told her to wait until after the parade... alternative egress that does not cost her additional money should have been provided...

Some of these comments are wild. Has nobody ever had to make a accommodations for a public event? Do you think they should just stop parades since it might inconvenience someone for a couple hours? Keep in mind they did not plan the parade that morning….. it was not a spur of the moment event.

I understand why she did what she did but where I live if they are going to block the roads for an event they tell us days in advance and sometimes they give us a different place to park or they give us time to move our cars . They should have done that for them unless they did and she just missed it or something.

Did her car stay in the middle of the “parade”? No. So there clearly was a way to safely get a vehicle out of that area. For everyone saying she’s entitled, I think closing down a residential street for a parade is extremely inconsiderate of the people who live there. I think everyone handled this situation poorly.
