Did you know? The kingdom of heaven is not actually in heaven! Many Christians have always believed that the kingdom of heaven is in heaven. But the truth the Bible reveals may overturn the way you have always understood it. Let us look at a passage we often read, but easily overlook: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10 KJV Did you notice that? Revelation also says: “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people.” Revelation 21:3 KJV Do you see it? What the Lord Jesus taught us to pray for was not a kingdom that only remains in heaven, but God’s kingdom coming among mankind, and God’s will being done on earth. This is different from what many people have imagined. God’s final purpose is not for people to leave the earth forever, but for those who are saved by Him to live in His kingdom, worship Him, and obey Him, so that God’s will may be done on earth, just as it is in heaven. In the future, those who are saved by God will live under His care, worship God, and do so forever. The earth will also become a kingdom where God’s will is carried out.
