I’m going to hedge against inflation by taking the time between now and then to set aside dry and canned goods as I’m able. I eat them regardless so I figure why spend more when I can spend less. If there does happen to be a sharp inflation then hopefully it won’t hurt as badly.

This wheat harvest is set to be the lowest in about 150 years or so... it's happening now because the cost of planting was too high this season combined with the El Nino, which puts further pressure on yields.

I totally remember that post. I ordered two huge buckets of wheat berries after seeing it. My new grain mill arrives in September. With the chaos and volatility this administration creates out of sheer ignorance of the interdependencies in our markets I’ve decided to remain in a constant state of readiness to the degree possible.

I'm in an agreement county. Neighbors are pulling their hair out over what they're going to plan for next year because they're betting on tarrifs, foreign trade deals undercutting them, and the price of fertilizer/amendments. The weather and climate change concerns aren't helping either.
