The most important thing is to establish that they can provide meaningful informed consent, treat them well and go slow, communicate, establishing everyone’s keen as you go along, and can hear ‘no’ or ‘not like that’ or ‘not right now’ without getting disappointed - just meeting them where they’re at - and if that sounds crazy maybe whatever your ‘regular’ approach is!
