I’m not sure when you’re going but it’s brutally hot here, I live 30 minutes from Algonquin Park. Make sure you have lots of sunscreen, bug repellent and lots of water. Stay safe and have fun.

You can get a Nalgene bottle that’s glow in the dark- and they glow for 8+ hours. I had one for 10 years and was WORTH it for hiking and trips

I do a lot of backcountry canoe tripping/camping and never bring a camp pillow. They all kindof suck imo. I bring a cotton pillowcase from home and just stuff it with my jacket/sweater and any extra clothing im not using. You can put your PFD underneath it if it's dry to prop it up a bit more if youre usually a 2 pillow sleeper.

A Thermacell for mosquitos. There is a backpacking one. You can get them at Canadian Tire. They were on sale last week for $40.

I love Algonquin! I was always an anti-pillow user but tbh now that I've found one it's non-negotiable. NEMO has the *best* pillows. I have the backcountry ultra light and front country versions. 10/10 recommend. Run to MEC!

Don’t forget bear spray, sunscreen & lots of bug spray! I hear the bugs are intense this year. If you have room, aloe & cortisone for bug bite itch plus a good first aid kit. You might want to turn on your phone tracker & have a few power banks with you too—just as a precaution!! Oh & a good occlusive phone pouch.
