If government institutions can lease shops and properties for 4-5 years, why is all the criticism directed at private landlords? My aunt has a government-owned shop in with a 4-5 year lease. If long-term tenancy is considered a problem, then the government should also be held to the same standard. The rules should apply fairly to everyone, not just private individuals.

Assuming I rent out my apartment for 6 months at a rate of 1000 cedis per month which comes about 6k in that 6,000 cedis I use 4,000 for renovations, meaning i will be left with 2,000 . I can assure the commissioner that in a few years to come , there will not be a single apartment that will be left out for rent
