ppl are forgetting that the book has different meanings that were used in the past, not the present. there’s deep meaning behind every verse but will never hear the context about it.

One of the Bible’s most well known stories is about liberating people from slavery. Also, the letter Paul wrote that “told slaves to be obedient” wasn’t the purpose of why he wrote that (it’s literally telling workers to work to honor God & not the master/boss while also telling the master/boss to respect their workers/slaves)

I’m technically a slave to debt because I have a car payment. The bank basically owns me because if I don’t work and pay for the debt, they’ll take my transport to work which would lose me my job which would make me homeless…it spirals. The bank doesn’t own me as an individual, but they do own my property
