ALS is so fucking awful. My mom was best friends with my friends mom (met though me and my friend) and she was diagnosed in 2015 and was dead by 2017. My wedding is the last wedding. She had a chance to stand up and dance at with her husband. She just had her first grandchild just five months before she died. To even hold him, we had to give her support and used devices. She eventually was just tired. And she decided it was her time. It was getting hard to breathe hard to do basic functions which she had already lost the ability to keep up with her own hygiene. We miss her every day. She was a great storyteller and absolutely hilarious. Just an all-around good person, and she was robbed from us by ALS.
