@cosmic.dynamics: 2089 NASA voyage to Sagittarius A, the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way. (Kerbal Space Program) #nasa #kerbalspaceprogram #ksp #interstellar #blackhole
This video made me realize thay I won’t be there for most of the biggest revolutionary events in history of space exploration, and I am sad now

Yeah we will totally set off on a 26,000 light year journey within the next 60 years 😭😂

hope you found a wormhole twin cause even if you travel the speed of light it's going to take you 26,000 years to get there (from earth's perspective)

If we ever reach light speed by 2089, it would take us 26,000 years to reach Sagittarius A and another 26,000 to come back. But if our machines are still at the same max speed as our current machine max speed by 2089 it would take 40 million years to get there and 40 million years to come back 😭😭😭

going that far on the first interstellar voyage is insane

there is a theory that whatever the first interstellar manned craft made is that between when it leave and when it is set to arrive at its finaly destination that we will likely have invented a faster way to travel and the new craft will beat the original to the destination, theres a book series about that concept too

i dont think they would aim somewhere 26k light years for a first interstellar flight(except if they find a wormhole that leads there), they would probably instead go to proxima centauri, a good simulation for that in KSP is probably debdeb in promised worlds mod

I will say …. We actually don’t know …Sagittarius is a super massive black hole…. It’s just very likely to be a black hole… however more theories have been coming out about it being a clump of dark matter instead of a black hole since there are inconsistencies in the way things orbit the center of our galaxy, if it is a black hole the physics are not 100% lining up for some reason which is why there is a new theory it’s dark matter instead because dark matter would make all the math work better but it’s not the most popular theory so not a lot of people know this.
