I am a prenatal yoga instructor, and I practiced yoga throughout my entire pregnancy. I had a natural delivery within 2 hours without any complications. Yoga helped prepare my body for labor and birth. Yes, yoga truly helps the body get ready for an easier labor and delivery. However, every pregnancy is different. Even if a woman practices yoga throughout her entire pregnancy, certain situations may require a C-section. Sometimes the baby may be in a breech position, or other emergency conditions can arise. At the end, what matters most is a safe delivery for both mother and baby, no matter how the birth happens. Start these practices from your 3rd trimester. Start with very slow and less repetition during 7th and 8th months and gradually increase in 9th month . These practices strengthens pelvic muscles, improves flexibility,reduces stress and help to prepare your body for smoother and natural delivery. But you have to avoid if you have a high risk case pregnancy/on bed rest/ low lying placenta and if doctors have restricted you from doing yoga or any another forms of exercises.
