I think it encapsulates what Martin was going with the dance: that it was a retributive manipulation by the faith and maesters to end the reign of dragons. A big part of that was female rule, and Rhenyra’s usurpation along with the death of the dragons cements the beginning of the end of Targaryens in Westeros since without it, the dragons would have never died out. I also think it makes Danny’s title as the mother of dragons that much more impactful.

let’s not act like she’s at all a good guy in the first place and the show does a bad job of showing it and try’s to make her seem like the good guy when the stuff she does is simply not at all redeemable and the same goes for aegon but i’d rather have alicent on the throne and i’ll stand by that to this day

The whole point is that both rhaenyra and aegon were unfit to rule. No matter who had the better claim, both proved themselves bad rulers through the actions they took in the war and in the throne.
