@erinrackham: Day 1–Guanfacine for hyperadrenergic POTS (.25 mg IR)! Who knows if these effects will last, but my heart rate has come down by about 30 bpm any time I have to stand or exert (🤯), my executive functioning feels improved already, it’s helping me tolerate cold temps, & I feel like it got rid of the last of the fight/flight I’ve been living in! So for today, at least, I’d say Guanfacine’s been a success. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow and in the coming days/weeks! 🤞🏻 #Guanfacine #HyperadrenergicPOTS #HyperPOTS #longCOVID
My guanfacine is waiting for me at the pharmacy. I have been putting off picking it up cause ai was afraid to take it. I am picking it up today thanks to you sharing this so thank you, truly!

I miss propanalol so bad 😭 I took it for 4 years and then it started affecting my breathing. Nothing is as good.

Hi! My blood pressure is very low when I’m lying down, but when I stand up, my heart rate and blood pressure often increase a lot. Do you also have low blood pressure when lying down? Did guanfacine make it even lower, or did it mainly help your standing symptoms?🙏

Can you please tell me if when you get the adrenaline surges, if you get air hunger? Not necessarily like you can’t breath it just feels like you are not getting enough air? I notice my stomach muscles tense and I start breathing in my chest/incorrectly which causes me to hyperventilate.

I feel like im getting a bit of my life back with guanfacine, im still building up, on 2mg now. but my need for naps and brain fogg are far less💜💜💜only my bpm is still in the 90s as a baseline so we're trying ivabradine for the good days and propranolol for the stressdays

Hi! Can I ask what health centre has been helping you with this condition? There isn’t enough awareness among healthcare providers about POTS and the treatments available.

how do you find the brainfog? I asked my cardiologist about this and he wouldn't let me try it because he said it would make my brain fog worse.

I was on guanfacine for 5 months but made my symptoms worse. It’s really good for people that have high BP.

Watching your videos pop up on my fyp for the last few years has been giving me so much comfort that I wasn’t alone, and now so much hope that things can get better. I’m so so glad to see you doing so much better!

Are you still on the cromolyn? Just curious. I sort of felt like the cromolyn helped with my fight or flight feelings but not all.

My pots specialist prescribed this for me and I want to try it so bad but my BP always runs low so I'm afraid it would make it worse

I started clonidine for my hPOTS a little more than a month ago and it’s genuinely changed my life. It lowered my body temp by a couple degrees so I’m not fully heat intolerant. It’s crazy! I’m so glad you’re having a good experience with your new medicine!!
