@daneshamonek: One of the hardest truths in psychology is this: People often judge others in the places where they secretly feel the most insecure. Sometimes, when someone sees a successful woman, they don’t ask: “What can I learn from her?” Instead, they ask: “How can I explain away her success?” So they tell themselves stories. “Her husband made her successful.” “She got lucky.” “She must have connections.” “She doesn’t even have a degree.” “She probably brown-nosed her way to the top.” Why? Because it’s psychologically easier to discredit someone else’s success than to confront your own fear, self-doubt, or lack of action. This is called projection. Projection happens when people attribute their own thoughts, fears, or insecurities to someone else instead of dealing with them internally. If I believe I’m not capable of succeeding on my own, I may assume no other woman succeeded on her own either. If I don’t believe I deserve success, I may convince myself that successful people cheated, manipulated, or were handed everything. The story protects the ego. Because if she really earned it… Then I have to confront the possibility that I could too. Confident people don’t spend their time explaining away other people’s wins. Secure people become curious. They ask questions. They study the process. They celebrate what is possible. Your first reaction to someone else’s success often reveals more about your relationship with yourself than it does about them. Stop looking for reasons why she made it.
