@caspiro.film: This Boat Will Never Sail Again — Because I Buried It and Live Inside I found an old sailing yacht that would never touch water again, dug a huge pit in a field, and craned her down into it — then buried the whole boat under grass into a green mound, leaving only the tall mast sticking out like a flagpole. I cut the bow open, built timber steps down to a wooden door, and planted flower beds around the entrance. Inside I stripped the old cabin to a bare hull, cut a passage with a wooden door through into a second room, insulated the floor and the curved hull, and panelled everything in warm wood — a little galley, a cushioned bench, round portholes in the walls. Then I finished the second room as a bathroom — drain first, then membrane, framing, tiles and fixtures. Powered off a small solar panel on the mound.
